Dear all,

The stuff we are learning in class seems to be pretty simple right now. Transformation of 2NF to 3NF and so on so forth can be seen using simple examples of small database. But I can't imagine how daunting of a task that will be when faced with data from a real company. Even a small size company that has relatively simple operations can have huge data accumulation. My question is how long does the process actually take to sort out data for these companies. Who initiates this kind of project and under what circumstances.
